Chiquito is a chain of inexpensive Tex Mex restaurants predominantly aimed at tourists. They serve a variety of Mexican and North of the border food as well as a range of cocktails.
I've been here a few times and have generally enjoyed it although what arrives on your plate is not always constitent, which can be quite dissapointing when you're looking forward to it. The prices are pretty reasonable and the look and feel of the restaurant is warm and inviting. Good location in the centre of town with parking across the street.
The restaurant was ambient. The seating arrangements were good and gave some privacy. A waiter greeted us and showed us our seats, which was a cozy corner well suited for our small family. The children were given an activity pack, which was a good touch. It kept them occupied for a while. The kids menu was very creative and attractive. The waiter was good at his job; he took orders quickly and checked up on us at regular intervals. The food was really bland and didn't have kind of taste. The child portion was quite generous. We wasted a lot of it almost the entire portion of kids meal and ours as well.We weren't informed about the Kids eat free promotion that was going on at that time. We only realised that after we got the bill.
Yes, it does feel a bit like a 'theme' restaurant, but the food is really nice. You do tend to have to wait a while for your food to arrive, but the place is usually very busy, so it is understandable. Try the Chillis stuffed with sourcream, they're great!
