  Smackwater Jacks, or Smacks as it's known to me and my friends is a lively bar in the centre of Burnley. Spread over 3 floors it has a great atmosphere and is the perfect place to pop for a few drinks and a dance if you're on a night out. Smacks tends to play a great range of Indie, Rock and Alternative music with some more dancey stuff on Friday and Saturday nights although a little bit can be forgiven. It gets busy but that just goes to show what a popular place this is. I've been on many occasions and have never been disappointed. A night out in Burnley just doesn't feel complete without visiting Smacks at some point!

• Never ever changes

  'Smacks' has never ever changed. It's been the same for as long as I have been going down Burnley and I bet it will never change. I'm not sure why I like the place, as it is so packed on a weekend that not only do you have to queue to get in, but once inside it's so claustrophobic, you're not sure why you bothered. Still, there's some sort of nostalgia kick for me to go, wheather it's for the cheap drinks, dodgy music or to feel the crunch of glass under your feet, i dunno! Let's hope it never changes!

  This place is heaving on Thursday, Friday and saturdays. Thursdays are great, Indie music and half price cocktails!
